Summer Wrap Up

I sort of stole this idea, but basically I have some random pictures that I wanted to post to the blog that don’t really merit their own post, so here they are.  Aside: It was slightly cooler this morning when I took the trash and recycling out to the curb.  I whispered a prayer of thanks (especially when I looked at the overgrown lawn and realized I will be the one to mow it since Tim is sick right now) and ran inside to light my pumpkin spice candle! 😉

Wish this happened more often...but then I'd be out of a job 🙂

Goofing off with Daddy...looks like there's still room for one more 😉

Motivated and smart. He dragged that chair into the kitchen from another room to get the popcorn.

We went to visit our family in Greenville, SC in August.  Our trip overlapped with that of my sister-in-law Sharon, so all the cousins had some time to play together.  The picture above was taken at the Children’s Museum.  For the full SC album, go here.

Last but not least, look below for before and after pictures of Tyler’s big haircut.  He had gotten his hair trimmed before, but we had let it get shaggy beyond description.  We called him Raggedy Andy.

After...what a handsome boy!

Here we go

I have once again been away for quite a while from the literary efforts of this blog, and I apologize.  My only excuse is that homeschooling is leaching out my creative juices. 🙂  Seriously, since beginning homeschooling in mid-August, I have found it more difficult to embark on anything requiring creative energy, including blogging and cooking.  Yes, we have seen more pizza from Venice Cafe ($5.99 for a large..can’t beat that!) so far this school year, but as we continue, I’m slowing figuring out how to manage my time and energy more effectively.  But it’s hard.  I know that those of you who share this often storm-tossed boat with me will understand.

Enough of the heavy..haha!  I know you all would rather hear stories of my disorganized life. 🙂  I had another crazy experience at the post office today…what is it about government agencies that bring the wild side out of my children and the stressed out mama out of me?  Thankfully, it wasn’t nearly as harrowing as my last postal experience.  While I was waiting in line (there’s always a line), Connor and Lucy were taking turns pushing Tyler around in the stroller and playing chase around the mailing accessories display.  These antics were accompanied by Tyler repeatedly shouting “NO!” at the top of his lungs.  I tried to assume that bland and indulgent smile while looking furtively around at the customers to see who thought my children were cute and were therefore sympathetic and who thought I was a bad mother and my children were wild.  Unfortunately for me, there seemed to be more of the latter type, the disapproving ones.  Oh well.  The packages got mailed and nobody got injured…a successful errand!

Ok, well, I’m going to post a few pics of one of our homeschooling mornings, and I’ll probably have to be done, since naptime has come to an end.  But I’m hoping to get back in the groove.  Keep your fingers crossed. 🙂

Yes, I let Tyler paint too...stripped down to a diaper, of course.
